Dr Sam Behrens is a dedicated and accomplished Senior Research Engineer with over twenty years of experience in engineering and scientific research. He has been a valued member of CSIRO since 2004 and has continually demonstrated his commitment to advancing the organisation's goals and objectives.

Throughout his tenure, Dr Behrens has proven to be a pivotal figure in championing ideas, securing funding, and delivering on projects that align closely with CSIRO's evolving vision. Noteworthy achievements include securing research projects and associated funding exceeding $7.3 million, leading the Demand Side Energy System (DSES) group to notable success, and delivering major projects valued at $4.4 million.

Dr Behrens has also displayed adaptability and forward-thinking in embracing CSIRO's new strategies, particularly in areas such as electric vehicle (EV) technology, energy-efficient buildings, and grid integration.
