Biography
Mala Gamage has almost twenty years experience in undertaking and facilitating research in Horticulture. Her research interests are on solving post-harvest challenges; non-invasive detection of insect and diseases in horticulture products, microwave based insect disinfestation, fresh-cut and minimally processing of horticultural products, cold-pasteurisation with high pressure processing, high pressure temperature processing, microwave pasteurisation, freeze drying, and product development.
She has worked with small to large scale Australian food companies, international research organisations and Horticulture Innovations (former HAL) on pilot processing of food products, customer market testing, incubation and start-up activities on value-added horticulture products.
