Biography

Adrien is a senior research statistician with interest in applied and computational statistics and their application probabilistic risk assessments. Adrien obtained his PhD in applied statistics from Universite de Rennes 1, France in 2010, applying statistical methods to the tracking of multiple targets using a network of basic sensors.

Adrien's work history demonstrate his interest in many applied statistical challenges. Between 2010 and 2012 he worked as a Lecturer in Statistics at Universite Paris Dauphine, France and then joined the Institut Mines - Telecom Lille - Douai, France as a research associate. During this time, he worked in collaboration with the CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) to develop a Bayesian framework for the inverse estimation of the dispersion characteristics of Chemical, Bacteriological, Radiological and Nuclear releases in the atmosphere.

Adrien then joined CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) as a post-doctoral fellow in 2012 for his expertise in Bayesian modelling and spatio-temporal monitoring, with applications in signal processing. During his first years in CSIRO, he developed his research expertise in multivariate modelling and privacy preserving methods for medical data. Since 2015, he refocused his application domain to environmental quantitative risk assessment. His most recent interest lies in the modelling of complex spatio-temporal systems using advanced parametric models and in probabilistic risk assessment.

Altogether, Adrien's expertise now lies in the application of statistical methods to health (health insurance, hospitals management, anti-microbial resistance), environment (eco-system monitoring, synthetic biology risk evaluation, illegal fishing) and signal processing (radar target tracking) challenges.
