Biography

Dr Janardhanan is a Research Scientist in the Water Resources management Program of CSIRO Land and Water

His research focuses on groundwater modelling and uncertainty analysis for the assessment, monitoring and management of the impacts of onshore gas and mining developments on groundwater resource. In this role he leads multiple water projects for the Gas Industry Social and Environmental Research Alliance (GISERA), and also leads groundwater modelling tasks for the Bioregional Assessments Programme of the Australian Government.

Dr Janardhanan trained as a water resources engineer and his PhD focused on development of computationally efficient methodologies for solving complex groundwater management problems.

Currently he develops regional groundwater flow models for coal seam gas impact risk assessments in the Surat, Bowen and Gunnedah basins in eastern Australia.
