Biography
Dr. Jim Patel is a senior research scientist and leads the Energy Business Unit. He has particular interests in low carbon technologies, in particular: those associated with the production of chemical energy carriers and fuels from hydrogen and renewable resources; low NOx hydrogen combustion; carbon dioxide removal solutions.
With a PhD in organometallic chemistry, Dr. Patel now works at the interface of chemistry, chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering and materials science. He leads multi-disciplinary teams and projects focused on developing clean technological solutions for the industrial energy, chemical and manufacturing sectors.
Dr Patel has published 60 peer reviewed publications (h-index, 15), and holds 5 patents. In 2010 Dr Patel was a member of a team that received a CSIRO medal for Occupational Health and Safety.
