Biography
I have broad interests and experience in ecosystem research focused on the planktonic component of fresh water, estuarine and marine systems. This research involves investigating ecosystem responses to the primary drivers such as light, temperature, nutrients and climate pressures. Approaches have been wide ranging from laboratory, observations and modelling. Methods have included genomic and other biogeochemical tracers such as carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, silicon, phosphorus and other organic markers including C & N isotopes, lipids and fatty acids. The goal is to make plankton ecology a more predictive science.
