Biography

Gary’s start in computing was in high school where he punched holes in cards to write programs and then waited several days to find he’d made a syntax error. These days he works as a scientific programmer mostly on data acquisition aspects of the BlueLink’s ROAM (Relocatable Ocean & Atmospheric Model) Project. He also does some data gathering of satellite datasets for IMOS. He normally writes in Java, Perl and even Python. He has a long background in computing user support and systems management roles.
