Biography

Cassandra is a Torres Strait Islander woman who grew up in Millmerran. She describes herself as being:

A ‘Big picture’ focussed Manager with comprehensive experience, demonstrating quantifiable achievements and expertise encompassing project management, community development, engagement and cultural capability. Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects, client liaison and resolving complex issues. Exceptional communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills, outstanding problem-solving abilities, and the ability to communicate strategies and concepts clearly to all key stakeholders.

Cassandra has most recently worked with the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability where she was responsible for the management of a team who drafted of the Strategy and Action plan to reduce over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in child protection.

She also has a strong education and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs background where she was responsible for supporting young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at risk, and working with high achieving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in pursuing employment opportunities.

She comes with extensive experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and undertaking program management and service delivery roles.
