Biography

Enrico obtained is Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy in 2011 under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Martucci. His doctoral project was the synthesis of novel thin films architectures based on noble metal/metal oxide nanocomposites via wet chemistry techniques for gas sensing applications. During his PhD Enrico obtained two fully funded internships at the National Research Council of Canada (advisor: Dr. Mike Post) and at the University of Melbourne (advisor: Prof. Paul Mulvaney).

After obtaining his PhD, he moved to California first as a visiting researcher at Stanford University (advisor Prof. Alberto Salleo) and then as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in Prof. Bruce Dunn’s group, working on the synthesis of nanostructured ferroelectric hybrid materials and of metal and metal oxide nanoparticles for energy storage applications.

In 2013 Enrico moved to CSIRO where he currently holds an OCE postdoctoral fellowship working on solution-based deposition of inorganic thin films with applications in transparent conductors, optoelectronic devices, sensors and energy harvesting and storage.
