Biography

Xianwen is a Principal Research Scientist within the Processing Program of CSIRO Mineral Resources. He has worked with CSIRO since 2006. He has over 19 years experience in gold hydrometallurgy research and successfully managed a variety of fundamental research projects as well as industry funded projects. He has made significant contribution to the establishment of CSIRO's leading research capabilities in thiosulfate technology development as an alternative to cyanidation. He has co-supervised two PhD students and a number of undergraduate students on various projects. His main research interests include:

• Thiosulfate process development for treating various gold ore types.
• Recovery of copper and / or cyanide from cyanidation tails.
• Impact of copper and sulfide minerals on gold cyanidation process.
• Gold electrochemistry.
• Process modelling.
