Biography
Kirsten works both within the Space and Astronomy team as well as the Site Entity for Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, our Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory to communicate the work CSIRO is undertaking to discover more of our hidden Universe.
As part of that work Kirsten shares the story of the SKA radio telescopes, one of which is under construction at our observatory on Wajarri Country in Western Australia. Working on the SKA project since 2010, Kirsten is passionate about the SKA telescopes and is especially excited to see infrastructure starting to appear at the observatory at a rapid pace.
With a background in astronomy and over a decade's experience in science communication and outreach, Kirsten has worked extensively within academic environments and is experienced translating research into effective outreach and communication products for public engagement.
You may have come across Kirsten in the past under her maiden name, Kirsten Gottschalk.
