Dr Mat Gilfedder

Mat Gilfedder works in the Sustainable Groundwater Futures Team. This research team is based in Brisbane, and its members come from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. Our work collectively undertakes research to better support groundwater resource management decisions. This includes uncertainty analysis of groundwater models to support risk based decision making, understanding interactions between groundwater and surface water, 3-D mapping of sedimentary geological basins, modelling variably saturated flow and transport in porous media, and the development of software tools to link models and improve integration between surface and groundwater models.
