Biography

Alex holds a Bachelor of Science (zoology and marine biology) and a Master of Instructional Leadership from The University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Middle Years) from La Trobe University. She spent a large portion of her teaching career in an Aboriginal Independent Community School in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, where she taught Upper Primary and was the Curriculum Coordinator. In Melbourne, Alex developed Inquiry and Project Based Learning curriculum in her role as a Science specialist teacher and collaborated to develop a school wide Indigenous Curriculum. Alex was a part of the award-winning Indigenous STEM Education Project and is now a Team Leader with the Young Indigenous Women's STEM Academy.
