Biography
Dr Falko Mathes is a Research Scientist and Team Leader of the Green Resource Recovery Team in the Environment BU. Falko has extensive experience in microbial ecology including molecular biology and cultivation, as well as biogeochemistry. He is currently working on the Microbiomes for One Systems Health (MOSH) Future Science platform (FSP) designing microbiomes and delivery systems for enhanced bioremediation and waste treatment. The aim of this work is to facilitate the biodegradation of specific organic contaminants and waste streams, such as PFAS, petroleum-hydrocarbons and/or mixed plastics.
