Mr Ivan Martinez Botella

Ivan Martinez-Botella obtained a Master of Science (Chemistry) from the University of Alicante (Spain) in 2010. During his Master's studies, Ivan participated in ERASMUS and IAESTE exchanges working in organic synthesis at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (England) and CSIRO Molecular & Health Technologies (Australia) between 2007 and 2009. After working as a Research Assistant at Monash University, he joined CSIRO Materials Science & Engineering (now CSIRO Manufacturing) in 2012 to work on continuous flow chemistry and biomedical manufacturing.

As part of the Botanical Pharmaceuticals Team at CSIRO Biomedical Manufacturing, Ivan is currently working in partnership with First Nations Organisations and Businesses to produce, analyse and test botanical extracts from Australian native plants to unlock the benefits of plants used in Traditional Medicine and Cosmetics.
