Biography

I completed my BSc in Earth and Marine Sciences, at the University of Bordeaux in France and MSc in Environmental Sciences between Bordeaux University, Southampton University (UK) and Griffith University. I then undertook my PhD in organic and isotopic geochemistry at Curtin University, working on modern stromatolites from Shark Bay, WA and ancient stromatolites.

After my PhD, I joined CSIRO as a SIEF John Stocker Postdoctoral Fellow to work on euxinic metalliferous Cambrian black shales from China and Australia. My work focused on using multi-proxy approaches to characterise organic matter-metal interactions and map ┬Ám-scale metal distributions using an array of micro-characterisation techniques, including x-ray fluorescence mapping at the Australian Synchrotron.

I am currently working as a Research Scientist as part of the Sedimentary Basins Team, investigating the role of organic matter on metal transport and accumulation in sedimentary basins and regolith environments.

In addition to mineral system science, I am highly interested in astrobiology, evolution of life and search for life in the Universe as well as evolution of biogeochemical cycles through time. I also deeply enjoy science outreach.

Other Interests

I am passionate about the ocean and deeply enjoy kite-surfing and scuba-diving. I also practice yoga, play tennis, enjoy horse-riding and running, and love travelling!
