Biography
Prasad leads Risk and Preparedness group, based at Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness, which is focussed on infectious disease threats to Australia. The group's research spans zoonotic diseases such as highly pathogenic viruses as well as vector-borne diseases. Overall, the research focuses on improving biosurveillance, pathogenic risk determination and novel interventions.
Prasad is a vector biologist with strong expertise in virology and genomics. His research is focussed on vector-borne diseases, wherein he applies his expertise to understand drivers of disease transmission, improve surveillance and to design novel intervention strategies.
