Biography

Tracey is a project facilitator for Oceans projects at CSIRO. Since 2009 she has been assisting on multi-agency projects, and oils the wheels for project delivery by
- facilitating communications to help projects keep on track,
- helping develop creative solutions to any issues arising, and
- contributing to business development and contracting

Tracey works in teams that provide ocean and coastal dynamics information. This information is critically important in the face of a changing climate, and more frequent extreme weather events. The increased risk of coastal flooding and erosion hazards from storms, is affecting coastal assets and lifestyles in Australia and globally. The information provided by the teams Tracey works with, helps informed decision-making, planning, and operations in Australian ocean-based businesses and naval activities.

Tracey brings a diverse range of experiences. Prior to becoming a project facilitator, she had 10 years’ experience as a research scientist (microbial and algal ecology, and acid mine drainage), including a stint in the CSIRO algal culture collection early in her career, and a year of field work in Antarctica. Other roles she has held include a laboratory manager (water quality), a policy research assistant (marine, and mine water quality), and a workshop facilitator. She has worked at all levels of Australian government: local, state and Commonwealth.
