Biography
Dr Purches works in High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) Thin Films and Quantum Interference Devices and Filters as Part of CSIRO's world leading Quantum Devices and Materials Team. She has 15 years experience in R&D for solid state physics, with a strong focus on improving manufacturability of electron devices. As well as HTS devices and materials, she has extensive experience studying silicon based electron devices, such as solar cells (Australian National University) and Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor Devices CMOS logic transistors, (CSIRO, Silanna Semiconductor Foundry and University NSW). She has also dabbled in organic solar cells (University of Queensland), III-V semiconductor Light Emitting Diodes (Silanna) and Graphene (University of NSW).
She has strengths in experimentation and understanding charge carrier transport in electron devices, as well as device fabrication and characterization (both electrical and physical). She is driven by a strong desire to expand CSIRO's world leading HTS technology for the benefit Australia and Australian industry.
