A Senior Principal Research Scientist with CSIRO since 1986 based in France as well as Australia working on invasive species management.

Since 2006 has been a CSIRO Research leader of three different programs on plant biosecurity, invasive species management, terrestrial biodiversity management.

Current primary role is Research Director in CSIRO Health & Biosecurity for the Managing Invasive Species & Diseases Program.

He serves on a number of boards/advisory panels for the Federal Government, GRDC, MLA, School of Environmental Sciences Griffith University, BioProtection Centre Lincoln University (NZ), Centre of Australian National Biodiversity Research, SITplus consortium.

Is the non-residential Officer-in-Charge of CSIRO’s European Laboratory in Montpellier since 2002.

Also has an active portfolio of research projects in weed and pest and invasive species management based on Australia, South Africa and France
