Biography

Dr Chris Solnordal is a senior member of CSIRO's multiphysics modelling team. He has been with CSIRO since 1992, and has been performing computational modelling for most of that time. He works primarily with industry clients to solve a wide variety of industrial problems in the minerals and process industries. His research interests include wear reduction in the oil and gas and minerals industries, emissions reduction, flash smelting reaction modelling, particle flows and agglomeration, fluidization, heat and mass transfer, and smelting processes. He also spent four years managing CSIRO's state-of-the-art laser flow diagnostics facility. During his time with CSIRO Dr Solnordal has co-authored over 70 journal and conference papers, and over 80 internal reports, primarily for industrial clients.
