Dr Styan has had various roles over the last several years, following secondment from her substantive position as a Research Scientist within the Biomedical Manufacturing program of the Manufacturing business unit to the Active Integrated Matter (AIM) Future Science Platform (FSP) and beyond.

Her role in AIM encompassed aspects of Portfolio Manager, Analyst, and Coordinator, and she also provided Project Management Specialist services as needed. She drove the development, and administration and management, of services to support the effective operation of the portfolio of scientific projects in AIM, and acted as trusted advisor on aspects of strategic alignment, stakeholder engagement, labour and operating expense budget negotiation and management, resource allocation, project performance, and team development. Using these foundations, Dr Styan was deployed to tasks within The Challenges and Digital Transformation Program organisation change initiative of 2019/20 and then within the Manufacturing BU strategy development and implementation of 2020/21. Some deliverables she was involved in were programme coordination, impact planning, market analysis, strategy documentation, and stakeholder management.

Dr Styan has scientific qualifications in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, and biomaterials, was previously registered and practised as a Patent Attorney in Australia and New Zealand, and has Certifications in global best practice Portfolio (MoP, P3O), Programme (MSP), and Project Management (PRINCE2). She likes to solve problems, bringing order and simplicity to complex situations, and enjoys the challenge and reward of enhancing the health and lives of Australian's and people everywhere.
