Biography

Claire is mathematically minded, loves puzzles and problem solving, is adept with linux and HPC systems, and enjoys sharing an enthusiasm for maths and science.

Claire joined CSIRO Marine & Atmospheric Research in 2011 working on ocean wave climate modelling. After a period working as a Senior Research Data Services Specialist for the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) in Canberra between 2014-2017, Claire returned to CSIRO’s Oceans & Atmosphere division working in the Sea level, waves and coastal extremes team as part of the Climate extremes and projections group. Current work is contributing to the Australian Climate Service, Green Climate Fund Vanuatu project, NESP2 Climate Systems hub, and leading an activity in the Bluelink NextGen Littoral Prediction project, as well as co-leading the Climate Science Centre's Data Science Network and contributing to a number of working groups around data management, and The Future of Meetings. In a past life Claire was a radio astronomer, and is also a qualified high school maths/science teacher.
