Biography
Flavia Tarquinio is a marine microbiologist with expertise in marine plant-bacteria interactions, more specifically she is interested in seagrass microbiomes. Flavia's PhD research has focused on the abundance, diversity and function of microorganisms associated with seagrass leaves, with particular attention to the transformation of nitrogen (N) performed by seagrass N-cycling microorganisms.
Currently, Flavia work is focused on expanding our knowledge of seagrass microbiome interactions and how this eukaryotic-prokaryotic association may enhance seagrass restoration success.
