Biography

Dr. Mikko Vepsalainen completed his M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry at the Jyväskylä University in Finland. He worked in industry as a Project Manager and Team Leader for several years before continuing his studies in Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland. While studying in the University he also worked in VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland as Research Scientist and later as Senior Research Scientist.

After the completion of the Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree, Dr. Vepsalainen joined CSIRO as OCE Postdoctoral Fellow to work on electrochemical sensors and their applications in mineral processing. The work has gained wide interest in the industry and enabled him to secure a Research Scientists position in CSIRO. Dr Vepsalainen is currently working on solid-state sensors and printed sensors suitable for continuous online monitoring of mineral processing and environment.
