Biographical Summary

Leader and Manager with over 19 years research experience, I have held the position of Research Group Leader for Solar Technologies in the CSIRO Energy Business Unit since 2015. As Principal Research Scientist for Next Generation Photovoltaics I am a respected and internationally recognised authority in the development of solution processed thin-film photovoltaics. Through my contributions I have been recognised as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics, Fellow Chartered Chemist of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute and awarded for my contributions to science and technology development with the Office of Chief Executive Julius Career Award for CSIRO Energy (2015), recognised for Leadership as the QUT Faculty of Science and Technology, Outstanding Young Alumni of the Year (2010), QLD Government ‘Growing the Smart State' Award (2003) and received the QUT Faculty of Science Dean’s Award for Excellence (2001) for my postgraduate academic achievements.

A key career outcome has been my successful development and leadership of a $1.95 million commercial engagement under the Australian Growth Partnerships (AGP), delivered on time, within 3% of planned budget, yielding $1.2m in external earnings for the CSIRO Energy Flagship and securing a further $1.2m in shareholdings in GreatCell Solar (GSL), 1.8% of market capitalisation, where CSIRO was in the top 5 shareholders.
