Biography

Prior to joining CSIRO, my earlier research work was in the School of Computing and Information Systems, University of Melbourne (2015-2018).

I hold a broad interest in cybersecurity and data privacy, with a specialized focus on the convergence of these disciplines with machine learning. My work involves harnessing machine learning methodologies to enhance the fields of security and privacy while concurrently developing secure, privacy-oriented machine learning systems.
Currently, I am dedicated to the design of robust, data-driven methods, such as machine learning and graph models, to foster precise, scalable, and user-centric security applications for mitigating cybersecurity threats. The central challenge I am tackling involves the effective engineering of human-machine collaborative pipelines, with the aim of enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of both elements in countering adaptively cunning attackers in the respective fields.
In my ongoing quest to resolve these challenges, I am actively engaging in collaborative efforts with industry partners and researchers from associated fields like Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

I have amassed a prolific portfolio of over 30 publications that have been featured in prestigious conferences and journals, including:
Cybersecurity: IEEE Security & Privacy (S&P), Network and Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS), IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC), IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (TIFS), Annual Computer Security Applications Conference (ACSAC), etc.
Machine Learning and Data Mining: International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML), IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems (TNNLS), Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM), etc.
Web and Services: The Web Conference (WWW), IEEE Transactions on Services Computing (TSC), IEEE International Conference on Web Services (ICWS), etc.
Software and System: Esteemed platforms such as the Joint European Software Engineering Conference and Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engineering (ESEC/FSE) , the IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS), etc.
