For several years, Asaesja has managed communication and stakeholder relations for organisations that span a broad range of sectors, including science, environment, health, water and energy.

Currently employed as a Communication Advisor for the Oceans and Atmosphere business unit of CSIRO, she provides strategic and creative communication solutions across a broad range of research areas including climate, satellite imaging, ocean renewable energy and marine pollution.

Prior to working for CSIRO, Asaesja worked for a national PR agency that represented a number of high-profile organisations including the Australian Medical Association Queensland, Mates4Mates, Youngcare and the Emergency Medicine Foundation, and before that she managed stakeholder relations for a government owned utility based in Queensland.

A natural story teller, she excels in identifying the best platform for promoting research based on the target audience and enjoys using film, photography and social media to amplify the message.

Asaesja is passionate about science and is months away from completing her Bachelor of Science, majoring in biology. This knowledge not only allows her to easily communication with scientists, but also allows her to translate complex topics into clear language for mainstream audiences.

Some of her career highlights include:
* Leading communication activities aboard CSIRO's research vessel Investigator on an eight week voyage to Antarctica
* Coordinating a joint CSIRO/NASA communication campaign on the Great Barrier Reef
* Launching a new city with the Premier of Queensland
* Working with Mates4Mates veterans to promote their involvement in the Invictus Games
* Successfully managing the relationships of more than 40 local, state and federal politicians
