Major previous activities

2017-2021: Leading the Global Innovation Linkage project on “non-destructive quality evaluation of additive-manufactured components”, jointly funded by Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) and 5 domestic and global industry partners.
2007-2016: Invented and led the CSIRO development on data-constrained modeling (DCM) of material microstructrues and DCM software implementation; benchmark case studies in unconventional energy reservoir media characterization in relation to CSIRO Energy; corrosion product and corrosion inhibitor characterization in relation to CSIRO Manufacturing; and minerals leaching in relation to CSIRO Mineral Resources.
2016-2017: Thermodynamic modelling and software implementation for high-temperature processing of minerals.
2010-2014: Leader of Environmental Surface Design 3 team.
2006-2008: Led the CSIRO down-hole robot strategic project with multi-division participations from CERSE, CMSE and ICT.
2003-2007: Led the CMIT Divisional Imbedded Intelligence Research Platform for development of methodologies and computational code in interpretation of complex sensor-based signals.
2002-2003: Developed a prototype system for quality monitoring of high-pressure die-casting which had been tested successfully at NISSAN Die-casting Plant.
2000-2003: Developed a condition monitoring system MachineGP for CNC controlled precision grinding machines which had been tested successfully with ANCA Australia.
1998-2001: Developed a prototype performance monitoring system ROSDAM for CNC controlled plasma metal plate cutting machine.
