Biography
Dr Saden H. Zahiri is Robotic Manufacturing Team Leader and a Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO. He is currently a professor (adjunct) at Swinburne University of Technology with a portfolio of collaborations with industry and higher education sector. His current interest is creation of scalable robotic additive processes for melt-less green manufacturing with focus on Titanium for clean energy generation. Since 2004, he has pioneered development of CSIRO's robotic cold spray platform technology that is acknowledged by local industry through multiple licensed patents including the first (+$100 mil) ASX listed company in the field. His initiatives in advanced material science and metallurgy resulted in 130+ publications that includes peer reviewed scientific articles, patents and commercial reports. Highlights of his scientific achievement were award winning studies in porosity and residual stress formation that includes development of a digital twin for solid state supersonic deposition. Saden has extensive track record in leading multidisciplinary CRC projects that combine revenue generating commercial outcomes with training a highly skilled (PhD) workforce for industry.
