Biography

Dr Dechan Angmo is a research scientist with the Printable PV team under the Renewable Energy Group at CSIRO Manufacturing. Dechan joined CSIRO in 2016 as a CERC Post-doctoral fellow, following which she continued as a research scientist.

Dechan has a materials science background. Before joining CSIRO, she completed her PhD degree in organic photovoltaics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). While at DTU, Dechan co-founded a start-up company in PV known as infinityPV ApS along with her colleagues and supervisor.
At CSIRO, Dechan’s research through various internal and external projects encompasses developing materials, industrial manufacturing processes, and applications for the next generation of thin-film solar cells known as perovskite solar cells. Dechan also collaborates with university affiliates on various projects and supervises students. Dechan has contributed to 46 research articles in high-impact, peer-reviewed, scientific journals. She has also written 4 book chapters.

Dechan is technically skilled in several roll-to-roll manufacturing methods including slot-die coating, doctor blading, screen printing, and gravure printing, among others. Dechan is also an expert in various materials and opto-electronic characterisation methods.

Dechan is a member of the Australian Photovoltaic Institute and Women in STEMM Australia. She is a recipient of several awards including CSIRO’s Julius Career Award (2022), Research Plus Post-doctoral Grant (2022), and Australian Research Council’s (ARC) Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) in 2019. She has successfully authored and co-authored several internal and external grants.
