Biography

Masood Azeem is an Agricultural Systems Economist at CSIRO, where his research focuses on informing strategies and actions to enhance the resilience and profitability of farming systems. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Western Australia and has delivered projects using quantitative modelling and analysis to generate evidence-based insights for policy and practice. His work spans a broad range of topics, including on farm performance and technology adoption; benefit–cost analysis of various soil amelioration and pest control strategies; the development of herbicide resistance and the economic impact of weeds on Australian grain and cotton production; risk–reward trade-offs in on farm decision making; behavioural economics; food security; and the impact evaluation of policies and innovations that promote sustainable agriculture and rural livelihoods.
