Biography
Anjana Devanand is a Research Scientist at CSIRO’s catchment hydrology team. She specialises in hydroclimate science. Anjana's research aims to understand changes and variability in the water cycle. Her current work focuses on synthesising climate projections to assess future water availability in southeast Australia supporting the Murray-Darling Basin Plan review, and assessing the utility of regional climate projections for water resource decision-making.
Anjana has made significant contributions to Australian drought research, leading an extensive investigation into the 2017–2019 “Tinderbox” drought in southeast Australia. Her research enhances understanding of how climate variability and climate change affects water resources and related sectors, enabling informed decisions to adapt to evolving climate risks.
