Biography
Nick Farmer is a geologist and Research Scientist in the Microanalytical Geoscience team. Nick combines geological domain knowledge, expertise in lab-based and Synchroton analytical techniques, and experience with data science tools to extract geological information from CSIRO's Maia Mapper, and to guide the development of the next generation of bespoke tools for microanalysis of geological materials.
As well as working on sulfide ore deposits and gold systems, Nick is interested in developing new techniques and models for studying critical mineral systems such as Li and REE. Nick's previous experience includes high-pressure, high-temperature studies of mantle petrology.
