Dr Andrew Goodman

Dr Andrew Goodman is a Research Scientist leading digital health initiatives establishing an evidence base for technology in health care specific to the interests and needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As co-founder of the eHealth Research Collaboration for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Dr Goodman has helped build national partnerships across universities, healthcare organisations, and communities to advance Indigenous-led digital health research. In his role as a Steering Committee Member with the National Hypertension Taskforce, Australia, he is leading a program of work ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are active collaborators in preventing, detecting and effectively treating hypertension in Australia. Dr Goodman currently leads a program of work at CSIRO that is generating the first evidence base for the responsible use of artificial intelligence to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes. Guided by the principle of 'Relationships Before Partnerships', Dr Goodman takes a relational and values-driven approach to research. His work is grounded in accountability, reciprocity, and long-term engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations, ensuring research agendas are co-developed and responsive to community priorities.
