Biography
Ausama is a petroleum engineer by background, who loves research and always keen to bring together multiple disciplines to solve a problem efficiently. While he has spent most of his career working for E&P Company and R&D organisations in three different continents, he also devotes considerable time co-supervising student projects. He has varied experience in petroleum geomechanics, CCS-Enhanced oil recovery, coreflood experiments, special core analysis and unconventional resources (shale & CSG/CBM).
Since he joined CSIRO, he worked on fault reactivation, induced seismicity, CO2-rock interaction projects. He is currently heavily involved in core-flooding & special core analysis experiments/simulation
Ausama previously worked for JOGMEC research centre in Tokyo. He was involved in multi-disciplinary projects, environmental site investigation for onshore fields and also had led research project on CCS-EOR (storage through CO2-EOR). During this period, he worked closely with Japanese manufacturing companies such as MHI, JGC, IAE, JFE, Kawasaki and Hitachi. Before that he worked as a reservoir and production engineer for more than six years.
