Biography
John is a social psychologist specialising in understanding behaviour and behaviour change at the interface between technical, social and environmental issues. He has worked as a group and team leader in CSIRO, and has delivered numerous projects in the domains of energy, water, and climate adaptation. John is currently Theme Leader for the Empowerment domain of CSIRO's Smart Energy Mission. This theme seeks to understand how different people will respond to and benefit from the energy transition in Australia, and also looks for ways to ensure that the transition delivers benefits for groups that are more vulnerable. John also has experience in stakeholder engagement, large-scale surveys, and human-computer interaction.
