Biography

Brendan Hosking is a solutions engineer in the Transformational Bioinformatics team, working in Genome Engineering under Dr Laurence Wilson. He uses serverless cloud resources to produce tools that can rapidly and cheaply analyse large genomic datasets.

He received his Bachelor of Science from the Australian National University in 2015, with a double major in Quantitative Biology and Bioinformatics, and Theoretical Physics.

His current work involves creating a serverless implementation of the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health's Beacon specification, as well as multiple tools for designing CRISPR guides for gene drives and diagnostics.
