Biography
Dr. Philippa Hammond is a behavioural scientist working on systems change and sustainability transitions at CSIRO. She has an academic background in psychology and evolutionary anthropology and has previously worked as a behavioural science consultant on international development projects for Busara Center for Behavioural Economics in Nairobi. These projects included developing tools for participatory forest management in Kenya, informing regulatory policy around digital financial inclusion in India, Kenya and Nigeria, and streamlining public health data collection in Ethiopia.
At CSIRO, Philippa is working on mission-oriented innovation research and policy development. For the Towards Net Zero Mission, she is developing formative Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning tools to help Australia's hard-to-abate sectors improve their capacity for systems change and carbon emissions reduction. She is also working with the Pacific Agrifood Futures initiative which, in collaboration with Pacific partners, is seeking to better understand and enable response to current and emerging challenges around food system resilience and sustainability.
