Biography
I am a Research Dietitian and Accredited Practising Dietitian in CSIRO's Human Health Program. As a member of the Public Health and Wellbeing group, I work across a range of research projects with a public health nutrition focus, contributing my skills in dietary intake assessment, dietary data analysis, evidence review, and advising on food regulation matters. I am passionate about creating scientific evidence which can inform the development of programs and policies to improve the availability and accessibility of healthy food for all.
Examples of my work include:
- A global review of environmental sustainability in national food-based dietary guidelines,
- Reviewing scientific literature using a range of methods including systematic literature reviews, meta-analysis and
scoping reviews,
- Developing and evaluating public health initiatives, such as Healthy Kids Menu - a South Australian Government
initiative to deliver healthy dining options for children,
- Developing and implementing dietary protocols for clinical trials to test the impact of foods, dietary patterns and
supplements on health outcomes including cardiovascular, gut and metabolic health
- Translating research findings into digital programs, such as VegEze - an App to help boost vegetable intake,
- Scientific writing: Co-author of the CSIRO Protein Plus Nutrition and Exercise Plan- an update on the latest dietary
protein science and a simple guide on how to incorporate animal and plant-based proteins into a healthy diet.
