Biography
Marcel Keller is a senior research scientist at CSIRO's Data61. After studying mathematics at ETH Zurich in his native Switzerland and briefly working there as a software engineer, he did a PhD in cryptography at Aarhus University with Ivan Damgård before joining the University of Bristol for a post-doc.
He is the creator and maintainer of MP-SPDZ, a research prototype for multi-party computation. Multi-party computation is an emerging privacy-enhancing technology allowing to compute on data while keeping it secret at the same time. MP-SPDZ has been used for over 100 research papers, and it has been cited over 150 times in 2023 alone.
