Dr Alessio Miatto

Dr Alessio Miatto is a Senior Research Scientist in CSIRO Environment’s Sustainable Consumption and Production team, where he leads research on material-flow analysis and sustainable design for the built environment. His work has advanced global understanding of consumption patterns, most notably through his role as a lead author of the UN Environment Programme’s Global Manual on Material Flow Analysis. Alessio collaborates with industry, government ,and academia to translate Industrial Ecology insights into practical strategies that reduce waste and conserve resources.

Prior to joining CSIRO, Alessio was an Associate Research Scientist and Lecturer at Yale University, combining research with curriculum development in Industrial Ecology and Circular Economy.
