Biography

Di Mayberry is a systems scientist who provides science leadership to global, regional, and farm-scale analyses that will future-proof livestock production systems against a range of challenges threatening their long-term viability and social license to operate. Her expertise contributes to science focused on overcoming the impacts of a changing and variable climate, diminishing resources, changing consumer demands, and pressure from consumers and government to decrease the impact of animal agriculture on the environment. Di’s research portfolio addresses these issues in both Australia and internationally, with projects across the Asia-Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to joining CSIRO in 2013, Di was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Queensland and completed her PhD in ruminant nutrition at the University of Western Australia. Di is also President of the Australian Association of Animal Sciences and sits on the Australian Academy of Science National Committee for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
