Biography
Dr. Julian O'Grady is a senior Coastal Research Scientist at CSIRO with over two decades of experience estimating extreme sea levels and evaluating their impacts on coastal flooding and erosion. His contributions to international peer-reviewed journals have supported advances in our understanding of coastal hazards and provided essential data for adaptation and resilience efforts. Dr O'Grady, has led the development of innovative sea level calculators such as Canute web tool, a platform which enables coastal managers and engineers to access datasets on how water levels and ocean waves are changing.
Other Interests
Numerical modelling, oceanography, climate science, nearshore extreme water levels, inundation, sediment transport.
