Biography
Dr Md Mashud Rana is a Research Scientist at Data61, CSIRO. He has been involved in several research and industry-based projects that focus on developing machine learning models for multi-modal time series and sensor data analytics. His research interests include applied machine learning with a strong focus on energy and bio-systems applications. Prior to joining Data61, he worked as a Data Scientist at the Centre for Translational Data Science, University of Sydney (2016 -2018), and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Australian Energy Research Institute, University of New South Wales (2015 -2016).
Dr Mashud received his PhD in 2014 from the School of Information Technologies, University of Sydney. He also completed Master of Science from University of Reading, UK in 2011. He was a recipient of the prestigious Endeavour Postgraduate Award from Australian Government and Erasmus Mundus Scholarship from European Commission for PhD and Master studies, respectively. He has published over 35 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and conference papers. He has been supervising two PhD students in collaboration with University of Sydney and RMIT University.
