Biography

Megan is a Research Dietitian in Human Health. With experience in community dietetics, public health research, and Indigenous health, Megan's expertise encompasses diverse domains, including designing nutrition interventions, delivering clinical and community trials, project management, media communications, and the interpretation of population datasets to explore dietary patterns and behaviours.

At the core of Megan's role as a Research Dietitian is a commitment to leverage nutrition science to empower individuals and communities. This is realised through the implementation of evidence-based interventions aimed at cultivating healthier dietary practices and facilitating well-being through informed decision-making.

Since joining CSIRO in 2016, Megan has achieved the following:
* Co-authored the CSIRO Gut Care Guide (2021) and contributed other CSIRO book publications such as the Healthy Gut Diet (2017) and the Low-Carb Diet (2017).
* Managed online community-based trials with up to 200 participants.
* Developed nutrition interventions, including clinical dietary protocols.
* Planned and executed nutrition education sessions, featuring cooking demonstrations and nutrition presentations.
* Contributed to the evidence base through publications in dietary assessment (including the validation and ongoing refinement of CSIRO Diet Score), dietary patterns among Australians and Indigenous Australians, as well as wellbeing research.
* Desseminated the outcome's of CSIRO's research through media appearances spanning radio, podcasts, and print media platforms.
* Participated in the CSIRO ON Accelerate three-month accelerator program (2018).
