Biography
Dr. Jin Teng is a Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO Australia, where she plays a leading role in advancing research in hydrology and water resources. Prior to joining CSIRO, Dr. Teng worked as a Senior Climate Modeller at the New South Wales Department of Water and Energy.
With extensive experience across hydroclimate modelling and floodplain inundation modelling, Dr. Teng has made significant contributions to understanding and predicting water system dynamics under varying climatic conditions. Her work is grounded in the development and application of advanced modelling tools aimed at improving environmental water management and resilience.
Dr. Teng is a prolific researcher, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences. Her contributions to science have been widely recognised through multiple awards, both as an individual researcher and as part of collaborative teams.
She is a Fellow of the Modelling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand (MSSANZ), a distinction awarded in recognition of her sustained and outstanding contributions to the field. Dr. Teng is also an active member of several leading scientific organisations, including the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the European Geosciences Union (EGU), the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), and the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS).
