Biography

Joanne Vanderzalm is a Senior Research Scientist and Team Leader of the Groundwater Quality & Management research team of CSIRO Land and Water. Her research interests include water quality, biogeochemical processes associated with water reuse, Managed Aquifer Recharge, arsenic mobility, natural treatment processes and application of environmental tracers to assess reaction processes.

Joanne joined CSIRO in 2003 after completing her PhD research at Flinders University on 'Hydrogeochemical processes during aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) with reclaimed water in a carbonate aquifer'. Prior to this Joanne had completed a Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Applied Science from Monash University and had worked in industrial and environmental chemistry.
