Biography
Andrew Terhorst started as a marine geologist engaged in offshore diamond exploration. He created a geospatial technologies business that served a broad range of customers in mineral exploration, natural resource management, nuclear energy generation, and urban and regional planning. Andrew's interest in research led him to join the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Here, he established a research group called ICT4EO, which contributed to the early development of the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS). Andrew then joined the CSIRO to help establish a world-class capability in sensor informatics in Hobart. His passion for interdisciplinary science has led him to focus on social mechanisms underpinning open innovation. Andrew uses advanced social network analysis techniques to assess innovation performance.
