Biography

Caroline Bruce's main focus and interest is large project coordination. She is the Project Coordinator for the Victoria River, Roper River and Southern Gulf Water Resource Assessments.

Beyond project management, Caroline has a background in remote sensing, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and data management - and she likes to also apply these skills to the projects she works in. She is based in Adelaide, South Australia.

Caroline joined CSIRO in Atherton, Queensland, in 2001 to research the changing landscape of Australia's Wet Tropics region using remotely sensed data. She later focused increasingly on the use of GIS to map and model environmental issues within the region. In 2010, she took on the role of Partnership Coordinator for the five-year Australia-Africa Food Security Initiative (AFSI). Since 2015, she has been involved mainly in the Northern Australia, Victoria River, Roper River and Southern Gulf Water Resource Assessments; the Transport Network Strategic Investment Tool (TraNSIT) projects; and was team coordinator for the CSIRO chairmanship of the Committee of Earth Observation Satellites (2016).
